According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of fitness trainers and instructors is projected to grow 8 percent from 2014 to 2024 with a median income of $36,160 per year or about $17.39 per hour. Actual salaries may vary greatly based on specialization within the field, location, years of experience and a variety of other factors. Depending on career path, personal trainers can earn in excess of $50,000 per year or more.
